 On September 18th, more than 80 employees from FedEx volunteered with Food & Friends as part of FedEx Cares Day. While at Food & Friends, FedEx employees prepared and packaged nearly 1,500 meals for clients. They also packed 160 grocery bags and 540 emergency bags. In addition, Denny Hamlin, driver of the #11 FedEx Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs, owner of Joe Gibbs Racing and former Washington Redskins head coach, and members of the #11 FedEx Racing team volunteered by packaging meals and participated in a press conference led by Brian Hughes, Managing Director for FedEx National Capital District, where they presented Food & Friends with a new Toyota Prius to use for meal delivery to clients. |
