Meet David Peiffer

David Peiffer learned that he was HIV-positive nearly 20 years ago. Back then, such a diagnosis was often tantamount to a death sentence, so David retired from his job and began volunteering with Food & Friends, wanting to give whatever time he had left back to his community. All these years later, David is flourishing and still delivers meals each week. He is now very good friends with a number of clients on his delivery route. "I know how fortunate I am to be able to volunteer, and I am grateful to be able to make a little better the lives of those who are not as lucky as I am." "Food & Friends' delivery volunteers bring our mission directly to clients' doors, and we are so grateful to this amazing corps. Among this group of special individuals, David stands out not only for his tremendous dedication to Food & Friends but also for his warmth, kindness and unique compassion that he extends to each and every client on his delivery route." -- Donald Pitz, Volunteer Coordinator
