Volunteer

Food & Friends' services are made possible with the help of more than 11,000 volunteers annually who have fun while giving just a few hours on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Individuals, schools, social groups and corporate and faith-based teams contribute in many ways.  We would not exist without our incredible volunteers.  Can you lend a hand?

Step One: Orientation

The first step to becoming an individual volunteer is to attend one of our New Volunteer Orientations.  You’ll learn all about Food & Friends and the available volunteer opportunities – and it only takes about an hour!  We hold orientations at our facility on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. AND the third Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m..
Register for an orientation on-line.

Tax Deduction
Did you know that the miles you drive for Food & Friends may be tax-deductible? Typically, the miles you drive to and from Food & Friends, as well as the miles you drive while on deliveries, are tax deductible. For details consult your tax adviser or refer to the Internal Revenue Service website and do a search for Publication 526.
